Who We Are
Two Organizations. One Standard.
The NAAWS Committee is a joint team representing the Woodwork Institute and AWMAC, bringing hundreds of years of combined industry experience across architecture, manufacturing, development, inspection, and education.
Supported by a dedicated Technical Editor, the committee transforms deep practical knowledge into clear, modern, and accessible standards you can trust and build on. Grounded in strong governance and national oversight, the Committee ensures NAAWS remains consistent, transparent, and technically rigorous across both organizations.
Led by experts. Guided by experience.

AWMAC, a non-profit organization, is the national voice of the architectural woodwork industry in Canada and is comprised of more than 400 dedicated industry professionals in eight regional chapters across Canada. Membership includes architectural woodwork manufacturers and installers, material and service suppliers, design professionals, and educational facilities.
The Woodwork Institute is a national organization whose primary purpose is to assure excellence and craftsmanship in woodwork. It’s three architectural woodwork certification programs — the Certified Compliance Program (CCP), the Monitored Compliance Program (MCP) and the Certified Seismic Installation Program (CSIP) — ensure project architects and owners receive the quality millwork they specified.
